MISSION STATEMENT

The United Church Youth Ministry is committed to share and celebrate Christ with Children, Youth, and Young Adults in appropriate ways in order that they might commit their lives to Him and His Church, grow in discipleship and partnership with others to transform the community, nation and the world.


The

The United Church Young People's Fellowship (U.C.Y.P.F) is a Youth Organization operating within the  Youth Ministry of the United Church in Jamaica and The Cayman Islands. The U.C.Y.P.F formally known as The United Church Young People's Association (U.C.Y.P.A) has been a vibrant part of the witness of the United Church for more than Thirty-eight years (38).

The organization was formed two years after the union between the former Congregational and Presbyterian Churches. The first President of the organization was Maitland Evans who served from 1967 - 1969. The Executive of the organization is elected at the annual Youth Camp Conference.

 

The U.C.Y.P.F is made up of Young people of the Church aged 13 - 25 years old.

Aims and Objectives:
1. To encourage young people to respond to the saving love of Jesus Christ and facilitate a continuing ministry.

2. To create a United Christian Fellowship of young people within the Church.

3. To provide opportunities for young people to share their interests and problems, and to foster their spiritual, moral, cultural and physical growth.

4. To develop Christian leadership and to encourage young people to serve Christ in the Church and to be His witnesses in the community.

5. To promote spiritual renewal in the Church through the development of new and meaningful forms of worship.
